Music at Atonement
“Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.” – Psalm 95:1
Music Ministry is a central piece of worship and life at Atonement. This congregation has loved and supported music throughout its history – 54 years and counting! The amount of musical talent and participation at Atonement outweighs many other churches of similar size, something we are all continually thankful for. Would you like to share your musical gifts to aid in our worship experience? We hope the answer is YES!
Our Senior Choir meets every Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00, Labor Day through Memorial Day. This group leads offertory music in worship 3 – 4 Sundays each month during its season, and often prepares a larger work during Christmas and Holy Week/Easter. Choir also meets to warm-up together on the Sunday’s they sing at 9:15. Rehearsals are fun, low pressure, and a great way to actively join in a piece of the community at Atonement.
Our Worship Team is a small ensemble that leads more modern, contemporary-style music during worship most Sundays of the year. During the school year, this group meets at 6:30 on Wednesday evenings for 30 minutes, as well as an additional 30 minutes at 8:45 on Sunday mornings. If this is your preferred genre of music in worship, we would love for you to come and help us to lead! We are always looking for vocalists as well as percussionists.
Do you have a child who loves to sing? The SONshine Singers are excited to have them! This is a newly-developed kid’s choir for all Sunday School-aged children, starting as young as 4. Currently, the SONshine Singers meet twice a month, typically the 2nd and 4th Sundays at 11:30 a.m. for 30 minutes to rehearse, and sing approximately every 6 weeks.
If you play an instrument, we would love to share those talents, as well. Let us know how you would like to serve.
